What We Give Back

At the heart of it, Matter Property is about people.

Matter Property has always strived to pay it forward in our community, and since 2014 has been working alongside other charitable partners to make a difference to those in need.

Heavily involved in community by donating and volunteering, our team has been busy working with other like minded individuals and groups to make our town a better place.

MATTER COMMUNITY

We are delighted to have introduced a give-back arm of our business, Matter Community; a way for our brand to assist our Mount Isa community through volunteering and support. Our pledge to do good in our community

  1. Matter Community Chest – Each month Matter Property donates $500 to a local not-for-profit group (This includes sporting groups or individuals needing a bit of assistance) nominated by members of the community.
  2. Pay it Forward Friday – Each week Matter Property treats a deserving person in the community to a little pick me up, which is chosen via nominations on our Facebook page. Friday treats have included; bouquets of flowers, picnic hampers, Coffee club vouchers, Dad hampers, gifts of workplace morning teas.

HOW WE HELP

Mount Isa Rodeo: Each August our team shuts up shop to assist with the running of the Mount Isa Rodeo (an Iconic local event that has run every year since 1959). In fact, our Principal is the volunteer coordinator overseeing over 800 volunteers each year to put on this great event.

Rotary Club of Mount Isa South West; our Matter Property team works alongside one of our local Rotary Clubs to collect and donate towards their annual Christmas Hamper appeal that distributes food parcels to those in need via the Salvation Army.

Cupcake fundraisers: Since 2014 our team have become the cupcake queens and have fundraised over $10,000 for various local charities and fundraisers with our cupcake drives including Shave for a Cure, RSPCA cupcake day, the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation, WWF day and Paws Hoofs and Claws (our local animal rescue centre).

TIACS (This is a Conversation Starter): Our Accounts manager, Ranita Toholke and her husband Tonka Toholke, have been heavily involved in promoting and fundraising for men’s mental health in our region. The team at Matter Property are proud to have been an ongoing part of their volunteering and events program over the last few years.
